The Defective
A Dystopian Futuristic 80's Detective Game
The world no longer trusts the word of humans, deceitful and corrupt, the governing bodies have been stripped of their power.
Android workers have replaced every civil service position, the city's workforce is nearly fully autonomous.
That was until 'The Defectives' appeared. Bad programming, poorly constructed droids or encrypted sinister coding, something has led these androids to gain a level of free will and fight back against humankind. These androids are breaking protocol, but most importantly breaking laws!
The Game
You and your friends will take on the role of Detectives in this game of logical deduction and social deception. Can you find out who the Defective is!? It may be one of the many Citizens of the city, or it may even be one of you!
TTRPG x Board Game
The Defective was designed to have a controlling player, Database Master (DM), act as the head of information and providing evidence when needed. Narrating crime scenes and characters if they so wish.
With this in mind, a game can be played as such:
Minimum player count without a ‘player Defective’ is 2 Players, 1 Detective and 1 Database Master.
Minimum player count with a ‘player Defective’ is 4 Players, 2 Detectives, 1 Defective and 1 Database Master.
Premade Crimes?
This game currently features only one premade crime, see Defective Case 1.pdf
However the last section of the guide is all about generating crimes for yourselves! Enjoy, go wild! (Not too wild I don't want to be responsible for anything!)

Changes made since submission:
PDFv1.01 - Changed a Location name and effect on page 22. The Location had been changed throughout the rest of the project but was missed on that page on the last day's proofread.
Defective Case 1.pdf - Playable Intro case added.
The Encore Project
The games created and listed on the Ink Blade Publishing page are all linked to the Encore Universe.
Encore is a new TTRPG system that aims to create rules light gameplay with heavy customisation for players that need something to sink their teeth into. Encore is a toolbox system that will offer one 'Core' guide for the most basic rules and then separate editions to further add content and specific rules for each setting.

i am excited to try this out with friends; we have quite a few ttrpg lovers in our group, and i know this theme will be a hit with them! the art style is exactly up my alley, and everything is laid out so cleanly. i loved all the little details you poured into this world. (i also really enjoyed utilizing pixel art for your socials!)
